Lucy Diggins-Wold stepped down as the lead guide for Flaming Gorge Bus Tours on January 29—she will remain as a fill-in guide while Sweetwater County Travel and Tourism seeks a new primary guide.
Her five years of service helped bring local history and nature to life for many visitors.
The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency named the White Mountain Lions Club January Volunteers of the Month for its free holiday train rides during Christmas in the Park at Bunning Park.
The club also offers rides at events (like Flaming Gorge Days and the county fair).
🏛️ Government
Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon urged residents to search mycash.wyo.gov to check if they are owed funds from $350 million in unclaimed property and to view a short instructional video before filing a claim.
He proclaimed Feb. 1 as Unclaimed Property Day to help ensure rightful claims are made.
🏥 Health
On Jan. 29, 2026, about 50 staff at Sweetwater Memorial Specialty Clinics took part in a simulated bomb-search drill organized by Emergency Management & the sheriff’s bomb squad to boost safety and awareness after a summer incident.
New protocols for facility searches will be developed.
