ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Bureau of Land Management plans to remove an estimated 3,371 wild horses from over 2,100 square miles of checkerboard lands managed by Rock Springs field offices if legal appeals do not block the effort—public comments are due by April 30. The first roundups from Salt Wells Creek and Adobe Town will begin July 15 while additional removals from the Great Divide Basin are scheduled for 2026. WyoFile
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rock Springs Parks and Recreation asked residents to share their thoughts on the future of the Civic Center on April 1 as the facility faces critical maintenance issues since 1929. The eight-question survey—available on the City of Rock Springs Facebook page—asks about usage and the impact of a potential closure. Wyo4News
- ➤ On April 1, the Rock Springs City Council met at 7 p.m. to consider exempting chickens from the Certain Domestic Animals Prohibited list (the final reading came before a vote) and the Green River Council met at 7 p.m. to review Amendment #4 to the contract with Burns & McDonnell for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Replacement Facility (the amendment covers extra construction services).
