🎓 Education
The University of Wyoming has named Rock Springs native Brig.
Gen. Shane Reeves as its next president — he will join in July after retiring from the Army. He will lead a university with 3,130 employees and a $533 million budget following a seven-month search among over 100 candidates.
Brig. Gen. Shane Reeves, an RSHS graduate and the current Dean of the Academic Board at West Point, will become the University of Wyoming president in July, replacing Ed Seidel.
He signed a four-year contract ($500,000 base salary) and plans to strengthen community ties.
