Yesterday, Commerce Bank of Wyoming said Robin Allen was promoted to Assistant Vice President Senior Banker – a move approved by the board – after eight years of improving bank services while helping run the Grilling for Good program – a community event for local causes.

On April 2, the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees dismissed Cameron Wright from his role as dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science, and he will return as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Interim Provost Scott Turpen said an interim dean will be considered during the board’s call on April 16 — a decision made amid faculty appeals regarding the leadership change for the Tier-1 Engineering Initiative.

The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency is teaming with Main Street America — Wyoming Main Street to gather community input for plans to transform downtown.

The agency said the feedback will help guide future planning for a revitalized downtown area.

Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office marine unit plans to offer recreational boat safety training classes this summer — the classes will help boaters learn safe practices.
