- ➤ WE Soda cut 48 nonunion jobs in southwest Wyoming — 32 salaried management and 16 contract positions — as part of a restructuring after acquiring Genesis Alkali on Feb. 28, and union workers were not affected. WyoFile
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming Game and Fish released a 140-page risk assessment that identifies 13 bottlenecks in the pronghorn migration corridor — evidence that sprawl and drilling may hinder the herd's historic route. Public meetings are scheduled in Green River on April 9, Jackson on April 10 and Pinedale on April 15 — the commission will vote in July in Evanston while accepting comments until May 2. WyoFile
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office is offering free boat safety training classes for boaters and fishermen on April 18, April 19, May 16 and May 17 at its training room in the Justice Center in Rock Springs—participants aged eight and up will learn docking, navigation and emergency procedures. Early registration is advised due to limited space and participants will receive a certificate for a discount on boat insurance. Wyo4News
- ➤ Wyoming U.S. Senators Barrasso and Lummis voted on Friday evening against an amendment that would stop selling public lands to help pay the federal budget—raising concerns among conservation groups and lawmakers that more land sales may follow—while critics warned the move could benefit the wealthy.
