COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Young at Heart Community Center reported significant funding reductions from federal, state and local sources that could affect essential services such as Home Delivered Meals and wellness classes in Sweetwater County. The center will hold a Community Town Hall on April 25 at 5:00 p.m. at 2400 Reagan Avenue — where local officials and residents will discuss funding needs and next steps. Wyo4News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Sweetwater County Events Complex announced that Oklahoma City rock band Hinder will perform at Wyoming's Big Show on Wednesday night, July 30 while country artist Tyler Brayden will headline on Tuesday, July 29. Another headliner will be announced tomorrow morning. Wyo4News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ In 2024, Wyoming lawmakers set rules that required out-of-state shed hunters to get a conservation stamp and wait one week so locals could hunt first. A Berkeley study found that 87% of Wyoming hunters supported the change and 22% said they would not have hunted without the new rules—showing residents benefited from the updated policy. WyoFile

- ➤ The Wyoming Public Service Commission approved Rocky Mountain Power’s rate hike that will raise residential bills by about $14 starting in June—this settlement cut the original request from $123.5 million to $85.5 million, and the commission urged a workshop of unresolved issues before another increase is filed. - ➤ On April 15th, city officials, residents and the Historic Preservation Commission met at City Hall—discussing the future of the Rock Springs Civic Center amid costly repairs and safety risks. The City Council will decide at the May 6th meeting whether to restore the center or reallocate funds given deferred maintenance and tight budgets. Wyo4News
