  • Inalvelz Chavez — owner of Casa Chavez Mexican Restaurant — purchased and reopened a long-disputed parking lot downtown, easing parking shortages and earning community gratitude.  Rocket Miner
  • The Green River Chamber of Commerce held its annual Awards Luncheon on April 16th, honoring local individuals and businesses for their contributions to the community. Joe Olivas, Searle Brothers Construction, Bill Lewis, Badass Brews, Amber Kramer State Farm Insurance, and Golden Hour Senior Citizens Center received awards—recognizing efforts in volunteer work, business excellence, civic leadership, and support for local services.  Wyo4News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Analvelz Chavez, owner of Casa Chavez Mexican Restaurant, bought the long-disputed parking lot at 317 M Street on April 16th, restoring over a dozen parking spaces for local businesses behind Pilot Butte Avenue—local leaders say the move improves access and supports downtown revitalization.  Wyo4News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Chase Matthew, a Nashville native and rising country star, will perform on Thursday, July 31 at the Sweetwater Events Complex (a key part of Wyoming’s Big Show fair admission which runs from July 29 through August 2) and he is known for his energetic live shows (he comes off his headlining Come Get Your Memory Tour).  Wyo4News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On April 16th, the Rock Springs City Council approved a chicken ordinance amendment by a 5–4 vote that allows residents to raise chickens if kept in a covered or fenced backyard enclosure—Mayor Max Mickelson said if animal control calls increase, the council will quickly revisit the rule.  Wyo4News
  • Residents gathered at Rock Springs City Hall on Tuesday for a public workshop where they urged city officials to secure funds to rehabilitate the Civic Center—hoping the project will move forward soon.  Rocket Miner
  • The Rock Springs City Council voted 5+4 on April 15 to allow residents to keep chickens within city limits + the decision now gives local homeowners the right to raise chickens without special permits.  Rocket Miner
