A local Taco Bell worker received a $5,000 scholarship—celebrated by colleagues, friends, and family—in Rock Springs.

His normal workday turned into an unexpected moment of recognition.

The Run with Sandy fundraiser will take place on May 3, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. in the Western Wyoming Community College Commons area, a walk at 9 a.m. plus a run at 9:30 a.m., and a minimum $20 donation earns a special event T-shirt while funds raised support the Sweetwater Regional Cancer Center in honor of Sandy Mitchell.
