🏘️ Community
YWCA of Sweetwater County announced that its childcare program (which served families for over 50 years) will close on June 5 due to declining enrollment and funding issues.
The organization will continue offering other essential services to support the local community.
Shriners will hold their annual Vidalia Onion Sale next Wednesday, May 13 and possibly Thursday, May 14 at the Rock Springs Honda/Toyota parking lot and the Harley-Davidson parking lot in Green River from 9 to 4 p.m.; onion bags cost $18 while supplies last to support local programs.
🎭 Culture
Western’s Student Art Exhibition is now open at the school’s Art Gallery, showing student work in painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, drawing, sculpture and mixed media until Aug.
28. A reception with awards is set for May 14, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
🏥 Health
On May 8 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Megan Guess, RN, along with Paige Jenkins & Taylor Yenney, won the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
Their recognized care highlights the hospital’s commitment to compassionate patient service.
