EDUCATION NEWS

  • Western Wyoming Community College announced its top dual enrollment students on May 14th—Addison Demaret from Green River High earned her high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree in general studies and will attend the University of Wyoming, while Adilyn Roberts from Lyman High earned an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice and will attend Southern Virginia University.  Wyo4News
  • Six educators in Sweetwater County School District #2 were nominated as finalists for Teacher of the Year — 25 nominations were submitted from peers and students that noted a combined 392.5 years of service to education. The winning finalist will be honored at the June 11th School Board meeting and will advance to the Wyoming Teacher of the Year competition in early fall.  Wyo4News

  • Federal officials have instructed the Wyoming Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit to develop liquidation plans, leaving research faculty uncertain about their future—conservation partners warn that ending the unit could disrupt decades of wildlife migration studies that support local management near Rock Springs.
