Tribal representatives and education leaders said they are worried about proposed federal funding cuts to programs like Job Corps — a key training program for Native American youth — and Head Start, which many reservation communities rely on for early education and job training.
Lawmakers noted that changes could also affect Impact Aid and Pell Grants, with funding decisions still pending in Washington.
🌲 Environment
The Bureau of Land Management said roundups will start July 15 to remove over 3,000 wild horses from the Great Divide Basin, Salt Wells Creek, and Adobe Town herd areas.
The decision comes after many public comments and allows mailed appeals until June 28—plans may change if court rulings alter the process.
