The local airport will host its grand opening celebration in August to introduce new travel services for the community.

Community members are invited to join a photo shoot at Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport on Tuesday, June 10 at 2 p.m. Local photographer Kristen Taylor will recreate an iconic image honoring Amelia Earhart’s 1931 visit, and the event is part of a documentary film by Burning Torch Productions — supported by local tourism groups.
The Rock Springs Community Chest announced on June 5 that artists may submit proposals for two 24-inch bronze statues — one honoring Timothy Kinney and one honoring Jacob Radosevich.
The selected artists will receive $15,000 per statue to cover all costs, and their work will be permanently installed in Downtown Rock Springs.
