EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Black Butte High School announced its semester 2 honor roll winners on June 9—these include the Principal Honor Roll for a GPA of 4.0 or higher, the Scholastic Honor Roll for GPAs between 3.5 and 3.99, and the Achievement Honor Roll for GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49. Wyo4News
- ➤ Local high school debaters are preparing for the National Speech and Debate Association’s tournament in Des Moines this Saturday—Rock Springs High School has six qualifiers with a travel fund—and Green River High School has 11 qualifiers announced on Facebook. Wyo4News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A recent tour showed that the Rock Springs Animal Control Shelter is crowded with stray and surrendered pets, and officials say the shelter will need updates + expansion to better care for the animals. Rocket Miner
- ➤ On June 9, the Rock Springs Mainstreet URA held a Future of Downtown Rock Springs meeting at the Broadway Theater from 3 to 4 p.m.—it will hold a Christmas in the Park planning meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at its office on 603 South Main Street. Wyo4News
