- ➤ Jessica Evans was named May Volunteer of the Month by the Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency for her long-standing dedication to Downtown Rock Springs and her creative work on summer events. She designed Wanted posters for the Downtown Scavenger Hunt and has championed the area for six years while running her own businesses. Wyo4News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ WyoRadio won four awards at last week's Wyoming Association of Broadcasters Awards Ceremony held at the Cody Holiday Inn Convention Center. The station earned first and second in Best Public Service for its local blood drives, first in Best Single Commercial for a Broadway Burger Station ad, and second in Best Use of Digital Media — with its award money donated to Vitalant. - ➤ On Tuesday, June 10, the Rock Springs City Council approved the city budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year and removed SEDC funding during a special meeting—bringing changes to the city’s fiscal plans. Rocket Miner
- ➤ Senator Mike Lee’s proposal announced Wednesday in the Senate budget bill may require selling up to 2.5 million acres of public land including areas in Wyoming to raise federal funds and make room for housing + conservation groups and hunters warn the plan could hurt hunting and outdoor recreation.
