- ➤ Rock Springs Animal Control will host a Microchip Chip and Spay event this Saturday at 850 West Center Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pet microchips will cost $20 with free lifetime registration and low-cost spay and neuter services in Green River will be offered by Castle Rock Veterinary—prices range from $30 to $150 for cats and dogs, and families earning under $50,000 should call 307-352-1455 for appointments. - ➤ Commissioners in Sweetwater County say the new property tax exemptions passed by the Wyoming Legislature may lead to revenue losses that could cancel out the intended benefit for homeowners — they worry the changes might harm essential community funding. Rocket Miner
- ➤ Nicole Hartford was appointed to the Rock Springs Main Street Urban Renewal Agency Board—she is a longtime community member expected to help guide local urban renewal plans. Rocket Miner
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ New facilitators at Sweetwater Memorial’s Pediatric Clinic are starting COPE — TEEN sessions to help youth ages 8 to 21 live healthier lives. The programs will offer guidance on healthy lifestyles and support families in Rock Springs. Rocket Miner
- ➤ Tami Love, the chief financial officer at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, was re-elected to lead the Wyoming Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
