- ➤ On Tuesday, Rock Springs Police arrested three men for soliciting prostitution— a Nevada woman was also booked for prostitution in Rock Springs. Rocket Miner
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming author Craig Johnson, known for his Longmire series — a popular mystery writer — will appear on Saturday, June 28 at the Golden Hour Senior Center in Green River at 1 p.m. and at the Holiday Inn Patio Room in Rock Springs at 6 p.m. Sweetwater County Sheriff John Grossnickle will join him to discuss the differences between real-life sheriff work and the novels. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming lawmakers have begun recalibrating school funding after a court ruled the state underfunded its schools, and school finance consultant Larry Picus said his team will review teacher pay, class sizes, and other issues in more than a dozen meetings over the coming months. The effort—driven by public concerns—aims to meet the state’s constitutional duty to fully fund public education. WyoFile
- ➤ BLM is revising oil and gas reserve estimates with modern technology and may ease restrictions for drilling in the 3.6 million-acre Rock Springs management plan—officials said the updated figures could lead to more energy projects.
