🏛️ Government
Starting Monday, ramps at I-80 Exit 85 will close for concrete repairs and cattle guard removal — the connector road to Highway 374 remains open for access north of I-80.
Additional work on I-80 between mile markers 83 and 86 will mean intermittent lane closures and lower speeds — drivers are advised to use Exit 83 for access to Love’s truck stop.
Brenda Younkin, a Jackson Hole consultant and co-founder of Y2 Consultants who warned that shifting federal land management would bring a maze of rules, has joined the Bureau of Land Management as a senior advisor reporting to acting director Jon Raby — her appointment comes after her 2016 study showed the challenges Wyoming may face if it managed federal lands.
Wyoming Public Media backers urged Wyoming’s congressional delegation to oppose a Senate rescissions bill that would claw back $1.1 billion in federal funding— the Appropriations Committee will debate the plan as early as Wednesday.
A June 8 judge decision affirmed the independence of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, prompting the call to preserve support for public media.
