Fremont County School District cut Paula Vincelette’s early childhood education liaison job after federal Title I funds dropped due to fewer children living in poverty.

Local educators and parents hope the district can reinstate the position to preserve the hands-on learning programs that helped prepare young children for kindergarten.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management will revise oil and gas estimates in the 3.6 million-acre Rock Springs Resource Management Plan area—an effort that could open more land for energy development in southwest Wyoming.

Officials in Rock Springs began a mosquito abatement program yesterday using a truck-mounted aerosol sprayer in areas such as the municipal cemetery, Bitter Creek, Bunning Park, Wetlands Park and Killpecker Creek, while the city-run program will assess further spraying needs over the summer with operations lasting until July 3.
