ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday at 4:43 p.m., the Rock Springs Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Archer’s Trail that was later found to be on Peak Road, where crews attacked a burning camper, shed, and part of a home and brought the fire under control by 5:37 p.m. — no injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation — residents are urged to avoid ignition sources in the hot, dry conditions. - ➤ On Tuesday, a federal court halted the Bureau of Land Management's plan to capture thousands of wild horses in Wyoming—citing concerns that the roundup did not ensure a thriving ecological balance. Rocket Miner

- ➤ Sweetwater County commissioners approved two budget amendments on Tuesday, July 15 and questioned why the large price amounts were not clearly communicated—officials plan to review their communication process moving forward. Rocket Miner
- ➤ Fred Eshelman, owner of Elk Mountain Ranch, filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday to review a lower court ruling that corner crossing is not trespassing & that allows public access to lands above his property. He argues that the decision upsets state trespass laws and could lead to property damage and loss of value on his more than 20,000 acres. WyoFile
- ➤ The Rock Springs City Council approved a review of the Civic Center when it hired a structural engineering firm from Fairfax, Virginia — the firm will assess the facility's structural condition. Rocket Miner
- ➤ WYDOT updated the Green River City Council on tunnel repairs after a Valentine's Day multi-vehicle crash caused major damage and three fatalities. DeBernardi Construction has completed most pavement repairs & Casper Electric will begin electrical work with one lane in the westbound tunnel set to reopen by late November and full repairs expected by summer 2026. - ➤ The Wyoming Department of Transportation and crews from McGarvin-Moberly Construction Company will switch traffic control on the Interstate 80 Point of Rocks construction project + officials say the change will help direct vehicles safely through the work zone. Rocket Miner
