- ➤ Mint Clean was named the first Downtown Rock Springs Golden Broom Award winner on August 4th by the Rock Springs Main Street—Urban Renewal Agency. The award honors businesses that keep their storefronts and sidewalks clean and inviting, and nominations for future recipients are now open. Wyo4News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Western Wyoming Community College (Western) is making steady progress on its new Health Science wing, an $11.1 million expansion in Rock Springs that will support enhanced health programs. Construction is ongoing as the project continues to advance. Rocket Miner
- ➤ During Wyoming’s Big Show last week, Sweetwater County 4‑H and FFA events named grand and reserve champions in shooting and horse competitions and gave them brand new prizes—recognizing the hard work of local youth. Rocket Miner
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tonight, the Rock Springs City Council will consider a resolution to cut council members’ benefits by dropping the $3,000 benefit portion while Green River holds a 6 p.m. workshop on a cost study and then meets at 7 p.m. to discuss Homeland Security grants and a water tanks rehabilitation agreement with HDR Engineering—both meetings continuing local government efforts.
