EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On August 6th, Sweetwater County School District #1 received over $1 million in federal grants under Title II, Title III, and Title IV Parts A and B. The district will use the funds for teacher professional development and other critical programs—ensuring continued support for student engagement and safety. Wyo4News
- ➤ Melody Nathan — a Western student and local artist — painted two new murals in the student game room that show the joy of play and the beauty of Wyoming landscapes. The murals were finished in August 2024 and January 2025 and add lasting pride to the campus while inviting visitors to enjoy the art during the academic year. Wyo4News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming law enforcement is testing a pilot program where officers use tablets to connect in real time with remote mental health counselors during crisis calls. The program, funded by a $2.4 million grant from a charitable trust, is active in departments including Rock Springs & is expected to cut jail stays and lower public safety costs over the next two years.
