United Way of Southwest Wyoming will host its 30th annual Helping Hands Day, which will bring families, businesses, and civic groups together to complete volunteer projects—strengthening community ties.

The Downtown Rock Springs Urban Renewal Agency named Russ Harper as its Volunteer of the Month for August.

The URA recognized his work on local projects—honoring his contribution.

A new 7-foot statue was unveiled at the historic site of the Chinese Massacre in Rock Springs near the old Washington School facing Bridger Avenue+ the monument, titled 'Rock Springs is in our hearts,' shows that everyone has a home+ it stands as a marker of our shared history.

Crews drilled a 3.5-mile deep well today in Sweetwater County's Madison Limestone as part of the $54 million Sweetwater Carbon Storage Hub project—the deepest Class VI CO2 injection well in the U.S. The project, backed by about $43 million in federal funds and the Wyoming CarbonSAFE program, will provide key data to push forward carbon capture storage efforts.
