On October 3rd, the YWCA of Sweetwater County received a $49,600 grant from United Way of Sweetwater County to support its Victim Advocacy Center (147 K Street) and its free Financial Empowerment Program for 2025 and 2026.
YWCA officials said the funding will help provide emergency shelter, crisis services for survivors, and tailored financial classes to meet local needs.
Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County said the main doors of its Specialty Clinics will close on Tuesday, Oct.
7 until mid-December to install new, more efficient doors and an extended foyer. Patients will enter through the back door near the Sweetwater Regional Cancer Center or the main hospital doors — the project is funded by a $1 million SLIB grant.
